About the course: 

Managing Sheep Health provides a holistic overview of sheep health issues on farm. More specifically, the course focuses on four areas - reproductive management, worm control, sheep diseases/livestock handling, and safe/effective veterinary treatments and health protocols.

What are the Career Outcomes: 

Managing Sheep Health is aimed at producers, farm managers and farm workers.

How do I gain a Qualification: 

On successful completion of this skill set, participants will be issued with a statement of attainment. These competencies can build towards gaining a Certificate IV in Agriculture.

AHCLSK409A - Supervise animal health programs

AHCLSK504A - Develop livestock health and welfare strategies

These Victorian accredited competencies are only applicable for those participants undertaking training in Victoria. 

Can I get Credit for previous study/experience?: 

RIST offers the opportunity for students to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) in all nationally recognised training that RIST is able to offer.

Fees and Charges: 

For eligible participants, this training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding.

Victoria

The State Government is responsible for setting the tuition fees for Government funded training offered by RIST. The tuition fee, including acceptable concessions, is documented in the Ministerial Direction on Fees and Charges and this document is reviewed on an annual basis by the Government.

 In addition to the Government funded training, RIST also delivers a range of commercial programs which are operated on a fee for service basis. Fees and charges for this type of training are not governed by the Ministerial Direction.

National

This is an approved FarmReady course. Primary producers can receive reimbursement of up to 65% of the course fees. Please contact RIST  for more information regarding course fees.
