Introduction

The RIST Centre in Hamilton specialises in the delivery of training opportunities to people involved in the rural sector. This unique model of delivery has RIST contract industry experts to deliver Nationally Recognised Training opportunities to rural producers at a time and place that suits the farmer.

This successful model of delivery has resulted in over 11,000 training opportunities to farmers across Southern and Eastern Australia during the last five years.

RIST is delighted to advise that this unique and highly successful delivery method is being used to deliver the Diploma of Agriculture from our base at Hamilton in the Western Districts of Victoria.

Course Information  

Key features of the Diploma of Agriculture

Industry focused covering a diverse range of subject areas that have practical on farm applications.
Delivered by experts who have substantial industry credibility with both vocational and educational experience to deliver training.
A delivery method geared towards the adoption of on farm change with a strong focus on business management and its application to farm enterprises.
Training that embraces the latest in technological change within agriculture.
A focus on flexible learning with a balance of on farm and off farm training activities to be completed on a part time basis.
A 5 - 6 day study tour to a destination to be decided.
The development of a farm production plan to be presented at the conclusion of the course.

Time Commitment

The Diploma of Agriculture is delivered over a two year period (approximately one day per fortnight) with flexibility to allow participants time for employment or involvement in their existing rural enterprise.
