About RIST

Rural Industries Skill Training (RIST) is one of Australia's largest independent Agricultural training providers.

Established by a group of farmers in 1992 due to a lack of quality agricultural training, RIST is now a leader in rural training across south east Australia.

RIST provides a wide range of training opportunities including agricultural traineeships starting at Certificate II level, Diploma of Agriculture and short courses covering the issues affecting the profitability and sustainability of Agriculture. All short courses are designed to link with formal qualifications, delivering greater flexibility to the student.

RIST prides itself on providing agricultural training that has immediate practical on-farm application and is delivered by industry experts.

RIST is a Registered Training Provider (registered provider no.4198) which employs 11 full time staff and 5 part time staff and has access to up to 30 independent contractors (course presenters and program developers) to deliver the training we offer. RIST is an AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 quality assured organisation that complies with the requirements of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF 2010).

In Victoria, RIST has a Service Agreement with Skills Victoria and is able to offer Government funded places in designated courses to eligible students. RIST also has short courses available for people working in Australian agri-business to build on existing skills, and develop new skills.
